Indian Army Hunt for 197 Light Utility Helicopter





The Indian Army Ready to Float a RFP to Procure 197 Light Utility Helicopter to Replace Vintage Chetak and Cheetah Helicopters from It’s Fleet .


There main Job is to provide Patrolling Reconnaissance And Evacuation Missions in Forward Locations and High Altitude Regions like Ladakh and Siachin.

   

Earlier this RFP announced Two times and Cancelled with Some Reasons one is Don’t have Enough Money to allocate the Deal second time The VVIP Helicopter tragedy affected this deal too.


The deal worth of Nearly $700 Millions to Procure 60 Helicopters directly from the Supplier and Balance 137 being built under licence by Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL) .



The contenders are Not been evolved till Now .But by some Assumptions the Contenders may be Bell Helicopter Textron’s Bell 407 , AgustaWestland AW119 ,  Eurocopter AS350 and   Eurocopter EC120 .
